The following is a detailed schedule of construction activities on the James Turrell Skyspace (218 East 16th Street roof) for the first two weeks of August 2022.
August 1-5, 2022:
Scaffolding contractor will mobilize onsite and begin erecting perimeter safety scaffolding
Begin enclosure of interior school courtyard
Interior ceiling demo at the 6th floor (hand tools only)
Removal of rooftop pavers
Relocation of roof drains
Begin rooftop patchwork
Layout roof ductwork and piping
Begin mobilization for 16th Street restoration work/asphalt replacement (permit pending; will require a one (1) day street closure)
August 8-12, 2022:
Substantially complete erection of permitter safety scaffolding
Install mechanical piping, ducts and electrical feeders on the 6th floor
Prepare to close ceilings at the 6th floor
Begin removal of parapet walls (hand tools only)
Proceed on 16th Street restoration work/asphalt replacement
